# Selemo

> Selemo is a Waldorf-inspired, secular home education companion for South African families with children aged 3 to 13. It is used by parents only: no child ever logs in, taps, watches or listens to it.

- Selemo is Waldorf-inspired. It is not a Waldorf school and is not affiliated with or accredited by any Waldorf association.
- The screen belongs to the parent; the child gets the world. Success is measured in time away from screens. No streaks, points, badges or feeds.
- Seasons, festivals and outdoor suggestions are computed for the southern hemisphere and the family's rounded location, biome and rainfall regime.
- Compliance guidance follows a versioned rule set for the BELA Act. Selemo is not a legal adviser, and the rule set awaits legal review.
- Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where it applies. Plans are chosen on the web; the phone app sells nothing.
- This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
- Plans: Seedling Free: free. Family: R299 per month or R2 990 per year. Family + Mentor: coming later, not sold yet. Pod: coming later, not sold yet. Every household starts with a 14-day trial of Family with no card.
- Compliance rule set: bela v1, Home education in South Africa (BELA Act), in effect from 1 January 2026, awaiting legal review.
